At this time he was a silversmith but was retired by the 1851 census. In the 1861 census he describes himself as a retired watch maker. In 1871 he writes on his census form that he is “rheumatic”.
Susanna Rickards (née Creeke) (1799 – 1875)
Susanna was born in Cambridge, the daughter of William Woolard Creeke and Anne (maiden name unknown). She was baptised on March 24th 1799 in the old All Saints church that is now All Saints Gardens, Trinity Street. Her father was a tailor. The family lived in St Andrew’s Terrace, off Regent Street. She had at least two brothers – Thomas and William.
When Susanna died she left £300 to Joseph Turner Bailey, a young man who had pushed her out in her bath chair.
