The monument is missing three corner posts and three of the kerb stones have fallen outwards but the inscription on the north kerb is complete.

In Loving Memory of our son HERBERT GEORGE TALBOT died Feb 5th 1934 aged 21 years

Herbert George Talbot (1912 – 5 February 1934)

Herbert was the only son of Herbert George Talbot (1883-1964) and Elizabeth (née Hardy) (1882-1956). His father was a stenographer who worked at the University Press, and he grew up at 1 Oswald Terrace, Sturton Street.  Herbert died at Addenbrooke’s Hospital ‘after a short illness’ and his funeral was held on Friday 9 February.
