Hannah Jane Whisler (1886 – May 1910)
Hannah was the youngest child of Martin and Maria Whisler. She died at 20 Stanley Road aged 24 years old and was buried at Mill Road Cemetery on 23 May 1910.
Maria Whisler (née Whiteman) (1847 – July 1912)
Maria was born in Walpole St. Andrew, just west of King’s Lynn and was baptised on 19 December 1847. Her parents were John and Jane, and John ran a pub in the village. By 1861 he was running the New Inn, in nearby Terrington St. Clement and was documented as being both an innkeeper and sheep dresser. Maria married Martin Whisler (1848-1925) on 1 August 1877 at St. Nicholas’ Church, King’s Lynn and they had four children: Florence (1879-1956), Frederick Martin (1880-1880), Mary Ann (1882-1962) and Hannah Jane. Martin was also from Terrington St. Clement and by 1881 they had moved to Newmarket Road where he ran the Plough and Fleece pub. Later he was a foreman at a brickworks and the family lived at 20 Stanley Road (1901 onwards). Maria died at home and her funeral took place on 11 June 1912.
Martin Whisler returned to live in Terrington St. Clement and died there on 1 August 1925. He was buried in Norfolk.
