Arthur John Williman (1851 – 7 October 1923)
Arthur was the son of John and Eleanor and was born in the village of Stanhoe, near King’s Lynn. His father was an agricultural labourer and he grew up at The Cottage, Docking Lane in Stanhoe. Aged 19 (1851) Arthur was also working as an agricultural labourer. Arthur married Georgeanna Howard on 14 December 1872 in Stanhoe and they had six children: Herbert (1874-1948), Harry Albert (1876-1954), Arthur John (1878-1957), Gertrude (known as Gert) (1881-1952), Ruth Anna (1890-1970) and one more child who died as an infant. They lived in Stanhoe for a few years, where their first two children were born, but by 1881 were living in King’s Lynn where Arthur worked as a labourer. He later worked as a dock labourer (1891/1901) in King’s Lynn and the family lived at Lansdown Street. In 1911 Arthur and Georgeanna were living in Rickmansworth and he was documented as being a market gardener, and by 1918 they had moved to live at 25 Bradmore Street, Cambridge. Son Arthur and daughter Gert lived in Cambridge, which might have been what brought Arthur and Georgeanna to settle in the town. He died at home aged 72 years old.
Georgeanna Williman (née Howard) (18 October 1854 – 30 March 1940)
Georgeanna was the illegitimate daughter of Jemima Howard (1829-1870). Jemima married agricultural labourer Edward King in October 1859 and Georgeanna grew up at West Street, Syderstone, near Fakenham (1861) and then Stanhoe. Before marrying Arthur Williman she worked as a servant and after his death continued to live at 25 Bradmore Street until at least 1939. In September 1939 she was resident at Doddington Infirmary, Doddington near March where she died aged 85 years old.
