Archibald Harry Bennett (1907 – 29 April 1912)
Known as Archie, he was the Second son of Thomas and Sarah Hall. He died aged 4 years after a brief illness at the Mill Road Sanitorium and was buried at Mill Road Cemetery on 2 May. The service was described as ‘impressive’ and his coffin was made of oak with silver fittings. His parents left a wreath at the graveside which read ‘to our little lamb, from his bereaved mother and father’. Archie’s death was mentioned at the Hills Road Wesleyan Church on the sunday after the funeral.
Harry Smith Bennett (1879 – July 1924)
Harry was born in Stoke Ferry, near Downham Market, the son of James Smith Bennett (1845-1922) and his wife Elizabeth (née Pollard) (1852-1933). He grew up in Stoke Ferry, where his father was a builder and Harry worked as a draper’s traveller (sales rep). He married Louisa Minnett at St. John’s Church, March on 4 June 1900 and they had six children: William James Smith Bennett (1900-1971), Ivy Ethel (1903-1966), Dorothy Maud (1904-1972), Archibald Harry, Charles Boyce (1909-2003) and Phyllis Irene (1911-1997). They lived at 4 Marshall Road (1901) before moving to 106 Tenison Road (at least 1911 onwards). Harry died at home aged 45 years and his funeral was held on 12 July.
Louisa Bennett (née Minett) (9 October 1873 – 5 October 1945)
Louisa was born in Ely, the daughter of James Boyce Minett (1843-1918) and Ellen (née Fretwell) (1844-). Her father was a railway guard and she grew up in March, marrying Harry Bennett when she was 26 years old and heavily pregnant with their first son William. After his death she lived with her daughter Phyllis and son in law Alfred at 38 Gilbert Road (1939) and died at the Mill Road Infirmary. She was buried on what would have been her 72nd birthday.
