Amy Alice Allgood (née Lander) (15 December 1892 – 22 October 1948)

Amy was the youngest daughter of Benjamin and Hannah (née Allgood) and grew up at 17 Trinity Place, off King Street. Her father was a labourer and her mother worked as a college servant.  Aged 18 Amy was living at home and working as a general servant. She married  William Allgood in 1926 and the couple lived at 34 Orchard Street. In 1939 William was documented as being an unemployed general labourer, and Amy was working as a bedmaker’s help at Kings College. She died at Addenbrooke’s Hospital aged 55 years old.

William Charles Allgood (20 March 1879 – 22 July 1956)

William was born in Barton and was the son of James and Mary Ann (née Warren).  James Allgood was a farm labourer who raised his family after Mary Ann died in 1879.  In 1901 William was living with his father in Barton and working as a flour packer/miller. He married  Amy Lander when she was c.47 years old and died at Orchard Street in the summer of 1956.
