Jane Banyard (c.1857 – 23 February 1902)
Jane was born in Mildenhall and married railway worker John Banyard. n 1881 they were living at 4 Cavendish Road and he was working as a railway engine cleaner, before moving to 60 Great Eastern Street (1891). By 1901 they were living at 54 Sedgwick Street, and he was a railway engine driver. The couple had moved by December 1901 to 17 St. Philip’s Road, where Jane died aged 44 years old. Her funeral was held on 26 February.
John Banyard (1854 – 19 July 1925)
John was born in Cherry Hinton and in 1871 was living at New Road, Cherry Hinton with his grandparents and brother James Banyard. Both he and his brother were working as agricultural labourers. He later went to work on the railway and married Jane. In 1911 he was still living at St. Philip’s Road with housekeeper Bessie Keeley, (who was married to George Ernest Keeley). He died at home and Bessie was the executor of his will.
