Jane Bennett (née Peck) (c.1832 – 25 December 1878)
Jane was the eldest daughter of Edward and Anne Peck. She grew up at Malcolm Street, and married, schoolteacher, Robert Bennett (1834 – 1859) on 26 September 1858 at Holy Trinity church. Robert was from Notting Hill and they settled there. Robert died at their home in Notting Hill on February 10th 1859 ‘after a few days illness’, he was just 25. Jane returned to live with her parents and her daughter Emily Jane (1859-1943) was baptised at Holy Trinity church on September 25th 1859. Jane continued to live with her parents until she died aged 46.
Emily Jane did not marry and died in Haslingfield aged 83.
Anne Peck (née Ison) (1806 – 9 November 1883)
Anne was born in Longstanton and was the daughter of John and Esther Ison. She was bapstised on 25 July 1821 in Longstanton when she was 14 years old. She married Edward Peck on 14 November 1831 in Cambridge and the couple had at least eight children: Jane (1832-1878), William (1834-1858), Annie (1837-1899), John (1840-1895), Edward (1842-1922), Samuel (1845-1900), Eleanor (1847-1920) and Emily (1850-1856). Both Edward and Ann worked as college servants, and it is believed that Edward was a college gardener. They lived at 8 Malcolm Street, and also took in lodgers. Anne died aged 76 years old.
Edward Peck (1807 – 3 January 1886)
Edward was born in Eltisley a village eleven miles west of Cambridge and was the son of William and Jane. He was baptised in Eltisley on 28 December 1807. He died aged 78 years old at Malcolm Street, although his grave monument records his age as 77 years.
