William Bolton (1888 – 23 May 1922)
William was the eldest son of Walter and Fanny (née Holmes) Bolton. His father working in the family removal business and later as a contractor and William grew up at 32 Bateman Street (1891/1901). He joined the Merchant Navy and qualified as a 2nd Mate in February 1911 and is known to have served in the 1st World War with the Merchant Navy. He married Nellie Speechley in 1915 and they had at least one daughter: Edna Frances (1915-2010). William died at 14 Hanworth Road in Feltham aged 34 years old.
Nellie Bolton (née Speechley)(4 November 1888 – 2 May 1975)
Nellie was the daughter of John and Eliza (née Leake). Her father was a farrier/blacksmith and she grew up at 102 East Road (1891) and then 53 Abbey Road (at least 1901 onwards). She went to the Girls’ higher Grade School in Eden Street and then worked in a draper’s shop as an assistant before marrying Willaim Bolton. In 1939 Nellie was living in Farnborough with daughter Edna and son in law Laurie Fox. She died in Epsom aged 86 years old.
