Emily Florence Bradbury (15  January 1889 – 3 September 1956)

Emily was the daughter of George  William Bradbury (1851-1928) and Ellen Matilda (née Childs) (1835-1917). Her father was a cabinet maker and she grew up at 38 Broad Street (1891) and then 44 Broad Street (at least 1901 onwards). She worked as a housemaid at Newnham College (1911), but then appears to have returned to live at  44 Broad Street with her parents and sister Clara. In 1939 she was documented as being a shop assistant and was living with elder sister Clara. She died at Addenbrooke’s Hospital aged 67 years old.

Clara Ellen Bradbury (1 December 1882 – 24 June 1976)

Clara was Emily’s elder sister and lived at Broad Street for most of her life. In January 1894 she gave a recital at an entertainment evening at the Granchester Baptist Chapel She was not documented as having an occupation on any of the census records. She was still living at 44 Broad Street in 1965 and died at 2 Carlow, St Matthew’s Street aged 93 years old.

The sisters’ mother Ellen was buried at Mill Road Cemetery on 15 January 1917.  Her grave has not yet been identified.
