JAMES CLARKE d Feb 26 1860 aged 86
Joseph Crisp (c.1793 – 20 September 1849)
It is thought that Joseph might have lived in Horseheath before moving to Fitzroy Street. According to newspaper reports he died ‘whilst walking from the Railway Station towards his house in Fitzroy Street. He was conveyed home in a hand-cart, and died within twenty minutes afterwards. A post-mortem examingation was made by George Johnson, Esq., when it was discovered that deceased died from apoplexy, and verdict of ‘Died by the visitation of God’ was accordingly returned.
James Clarke (c.1774 – 26 February 1860)
Nothing is known of James’ life and his burial is not recorded in the Parish burial records.
