Mary Coe (née Wesley) (1860 – 19 October 1924)

Mary  was the only daughter of William and Elizabeth (née Tofts). William was a farm labourer and she grew up at Haggis Farm, Granchester (1861) and then Merton Street, Newnham (1871). She married Alfred Coe in 1879 and they had fifteen children: Private Charles Alfred (1881-1917), Zillah (1886-1958), Ernest (1888-1965), Mary Jane (1889-), Albert (1891-1979), Ethel Maud (1895-1988), Lily Abigail (1898-1985), Private William Ewart (1899-1918), Hilda (1903-1987), Elsie May (1909-2000) and five children who died as infants. Alfred worked as a  bricklayer and the family lived at 20 Butts Row (1881), 14 Cockburn Street (1891), Catharine Street (1901/1911). Mary died at 93 Catharine Street aged 64 years old.

Alfred George Coe (1859 –  9 September 1929)

Alfred was born in Cherry Hinton and baptised there on 10 April 1859.  He was the eldest child of Charles and Elizabeth Coe and grew up on Teversham High Street. His father worked as a gardener. Alfred and Mary were members of the Salvation Army and his brother Herbert was bandmaster. Alfred died at the Mill Road Infirmary aged 70 years old and his funeral took place on 12 September 1929.
