This monument, in the parish area of Holy Trinity, is located on the west of the bend in the path in the south east corner.

In Loving Memory of CHARLES GEORGE COLLINS
Who died 16th March 1937 age 80 years.

Charles George Collins (1857 – 16 March 1937)

Charles was born in St. John’s Wood and baptised at St. Stephen the Martyr Church, Hampstead on 22 August 1858. He was the son of Charles George Collins and Mary Ann. His father was a cabinet maker and his mother a dressmaker.  By the age of 23 George had moved to  Cambridge and was working as a scientific instrument maker. He lodged at 22 Panton Street with the Bowtell family before marrying Florence Hayward in 1891.  Charles and Florence had two sons: Charles (1892-1969) and Ernest George (1904-1972). They lived at 1 Malcolm Place and Charles died at hoe aged 79 years old.

Florence Collins (née Hayward) (8 September 1868 – 11 June 1945)

Florence was the eldest child of Samuel and Martha (née West) and grew up at the Cricketer’s Pub, Melbourn Place which her parents ran. After she was widowed she ran a Lodging House from 1 Malcolm Place and died there aged 76 years old.
