Prime Edwin William Coulson (23 March 1869 – 2 February 1908)
Prime Edwin was the eldest son of Prime Taylor and Lucy Coulson. He appears to have always been known as Willie and was baptised on 26 January 1873. He grew up at 8 and 9 Sussex Street where his father ran a butcher’s shop. He married Hannah Elizabeth Dadley (b 1874) in London in January 1899. They then lived at 190 East Road, where the Coulsons had a second butchers shop that ran in tandem to the one in Sussex Street. Willie died on 2nd February 1908 aged 38 years.
There is some confusion regarding his date of birth. The baptism record gives it as 23 March 1869, which is consistent with the registration of birth and also census records. The grave monument gives the date of 24 May 1870, which is believed to be incorrect.
Marjorie Lucy Coulson (1899 – 1900)
Marjorie Lucy was the daughter of Prime Edwin and Hannah. She was born in late 1899 and died in the first few months of 1900.
