Monument
This set of kerbstones lie 5 rows east of the central path in the centre of the parish plot belonging to Mary the Great. The south kerb has fallen but the inscriptions of metal letters appear mostly intact.

Florence Frances Edwards (née Mackenzie) (1872 – 9 April 1934)
Florence was the daughter of John and Elvina (née Mutimer) and grew up at 26 Coronation Street. John Mackenzie had died by the time Florence was 9 years old and her mother ran a butchery/grocery store, by 1891 Florence was was helping her mother in the business. She married George Edwards in 1892 and they had four children: Dorothy Emma (1895-1953), Lilian (1902-), George Alfred (1910-1983) and one more child who died as an infant. The family lived at 24 Norwich Street (1901), 35 Norwich Street (1911) and 45 Russell Street (at least 1918 onwards). Florence died at home and was buried on 14 April 1934.
George Edwards (1864 – 2 December 1934)
George’s was born in Cambridge to Thomas and Ellen Edwards who were originally from Coton. Thomas was a gardener who worked at the St Catherine’s College farm in Coton (1861). When George was baptised in Coton on April 10th 1864 the family were living on Histon Road in Cambridge and in 1871 they were living at 4 Newnham Road.
When he married 20 year old Florence Mackenzie at The Primitive Methodist Chapel, Panton St, he was custodian of Selwyn cricket ground. In 1901 he was documented as being the caretaker of a cricket ground, and as a nursery gardener in 1911. George died at home and was buried on 6 December.
George’s parents and 2 brothers are buried in the parish of St Paul. His brother Thomas and wife Louisa Edwards PL159. Thomas and Ellen Edwards and his brother Charles who died aged 26 1 row to the west but with no visible monument.
