Jeremiah Fisher (c.1822 – 15 August 1877)
Jeremiah was born in Longton in Staffordshire, and was baptised at Longton on 15th March 1829. He was the son of Jeremiah and Elizabeth Fisher. He married Mary Ann Flack on 23 June 1857 at St Andrew the Less Church, Cambridge. He worked as a hawker and the couple lived at Burleigh Place.
Mary Ann and Jeremiah had at least seven children: Elizabeth Alice Flack [1858-], Jeremiah [1859-], William Edward [1862-1895], Albert James [1864-], Mary Maria [1868-1930], John Henry [1871-] and John Frederick (known as Fred) [1874-]
In 1871 the family were still at 2 Burleigh Place, but by 1874 were at Geldart Street. Jeremiah died in August 1877 aged 55 years old.
Mary Ann Fisher [nee Flack] (c.1836 – 20 June 1921)
Mary Ann was born in Cherry Hinton, the daughter of William and Susan (née Kirby) After she was widowed she continued to live at Geldart Street and took in laundry to support herself and her youngest children. She subsequently worked as a charwoman (1891) and sick nurse (1901). By 1901 she had moved to live at 15 St. Matthew’s Street, where she stayed until at least 1911.
She later moved to live at Christ Church Vicarage, Deptford, with her daughter Mary and son in law Rev. Theodore William Pitman. She died in Deptford and her funeral was held in Cambridge on 24 June..
