This headstone is hidden under a large bush and has not been uncovered. According to the CFHS map it is located 8 or 9 rows along the path that runs west from the centre circle and 14 plots south according to the grave register.

Joseph Kitchener (c 1835 – 1890)
Joseph was born in 1835 in to labourer and ? In Baldock, Hertfordshire to James & ?. He married Rebecca Fordham on Christmas Day 1860 at St Gile’s Church Cambridge. They both gave their address as Fisher’s lane. In 1861 they were living with Rebecca’s widowed mother and sister at 1 Fishers Lane and Joseph was working as a groom.
In 1871 he and Rebecca were living at 2 Fishers Lane opposite Magdalene College in the parish of St Peter’s. This link will take you to Capturing Cambridge where there are some pictures of Fisher’s lane.

Joseph’s sudden death was reported in the Cambridge Independent Press on 17th May. From this article we learn that at the time of his death he was a coachman and had been working for the brewer Mr Potts.
Rebecca Kitchener née Fordham (1837 – March 1913)
Rebecca was born in the High St Chesterton to labourer Charles and his wife Elizabeth. Aged 12 she was listed as a scholar and the family were still living in Chesterton in Thrift’s Lane (Thrifts Walk). Her father died in 1859 aged 51 and her mother then became a laundress. Rebecca married Joseph Kitchener the following year. She and Joseph had moved to 10 Victoria Road by 1879.
She bore at least 8 children Catherine Mary (1861), Charles Edward (1863), Edward (1865), Jane (1869), Ernest (1871) Ada (1874), Gertrude Alice (1876) and Beatrice (1880-1886).
Rebecca died at the workhouse infirmary aged 74.
Ernest George Kitchener (1871 – 1920)
Ernest was I month old when the 1871 census was taken.
He died in May 1920 aged 49 and was buried on June 1st.
Sidney Henry Foister (1878 – 9 June 1915)
Sidney was the son of Frederick and Sarah Foister. His father was a boatbuilder and he grew up at Fordham Yard Cottages, Chesterton Road. Frederick died in 1884, he then lived with his mother and siblings at Chesterton Road. Aged 21 Sidney was working in a college kitchen and married Gertrude Alice Kitchener (1876-1955) on 7 September 1905 at St. Mary the Less Church. The couple lived at 38 Orchard Street and had one daughter: Gladys Gertrude. In 1911 Sidney was still working as a college servant and he died aged 36 years.
Gladys Gertrude Foister (1906 – 27 February 1927)
Gladys was the only daughter of Sidney and Gertrude and died aged 20 years old.
In 1939 her mother was still placing in memoriam announcements in the Cambridge Daily News which read ‘in loving memory of Gladys, only daughter of Mrs. S. Foister of 9 Orchard Street, Cambridge, who passed away 27th February 1927. Dearly loved’.
