Dorothy Lily Garton (1890 – 8 January 1933)

Dorothy was the youngest daughter of Frederick and Julia (née Craske) and grew up at  Russell Street. Frederick was a wood machinist/builder’s machinist and aged 21 Dorothy was still living at home and working as a corset maker. She married William George Smith Garton (1892-) in 1917 and they had one daughter: Joyce Dorothy May (1922-1935).  William was in the Navy and served from January 1910 until January  1922. They lived at 79 Russell Street (at least 1918-1922)  and Dorothy died in Cambridge aged 42 years old.

Her husband William is thought to have left Cambridge after her death, as daughter Joyce died in London two years later.
