Gertrude Lynn Redfarn (née Franklin) (1874 – 30 March 1926)
Gertrude was born in Cherry Hinton and baptised there on 28 March 1875. She was the daughter of Arthur and Emily Franklin and Arthur worked as a coach painter. She grew up at 91 East Road (1881) and aged 17 was living at 3 Downing Terrace, Lensfield Road and working as a general servant to William Sindall. She married butcher Jospeh Redfarn in 1895 and they had four children: Florence Gertrude Alice (1897-1961), Gertrude (1900-2003), Joseph (1901-1965) and Frederick (1906-1979). The family lived at 10 Mill Street (1901), 18 Mawson Road (1911), 117 Gwydir Street (1917-1922) and then 92 Tenison Road (at least 1924 onwards). She died at Tenison Road aged 52 years old.
Joseph Samuel Redfarn (1874 – 5 June 1956)
Joseph was the eldest son of butcher Joseph Redfarn (1852-1924) and Emma Jane (née Newman)(1849-1932) and grew up at 1 Crispin Street (1881) and 15 Gwydir Street (1891). Aged 16 he was working as an assistant to his father. Aged 18 (1892) he was summoned to court for assaulting Elijah Odell, a hawker of Gwydir Street. He counter accused Elijah and both cases were dismissed. In 1950 he was documented as living at 199a Mill Road, which is thought to be the location of the butchers shop he ran and died aged 82 years old.
Florence Beatrice Harris (née Franklin) (12 October 1882 – 22 April 1944)
Florence was the younger sister of Gertrude Redfarn and grew up at 121 York Street (1891). Aged 19 she was living at Tenison Road and working as a general servant to dairyman Walter Impling, and then worked as a refreshment room/bar attendant at Cambridge station (1911). She married Ernest Albert Harris (1881-1941) on Christmas Day 1915 and they had at least two daughters: Beatrice Mena (1916-1999) and Audrey (1920-1946). Arthur worked as a motor mechanic and the family lived at 125 Gwydir Street. Florence died at home aged 61 years old and was buried at Mill Road Cemetery on 26 April 1944.
