Relationship: Mother, son and daughter in law

Sarah Harris (1786 – 14 August 1857)

Sarah was born in Cambridge and married carpenter William Harris (1795-). They lived at 10 Norfolk Street and had at least three children: Samuel (1810-1864), Susan Ann (1812-1900) and William Looker (1818-1899). Sarah died at home and her funeral was held on 19 August.

Samuel Harris (1810-1864)

Samuel was baptised at St. Giles’ Church on 17 February 1811 and married Mary Rickwood on 21 October 1844 at St. Michael’s Church, Cambridge. The couple had at least two daughters: Sarah Ann (1846-) and Frances Maria (1850-1906). In 1851 and 1861 they were living at Histon Road, and Samuel was working as a carpenter/joiner, but he later ran a shop.  He died at Histon Road after ‘a short but severe illness’.

Mary Ann Harris (née Rickwood) (1804 – 29 April 1876)

Mary was the second daughter of Henry (1772-1839) and Frances (née Newman) (1777-1840) and was baptised on 21 October 1804 at St. Andrew the Great. Her father was a cooper and in 1841 she was living at Portugal Place with her sister Maria and brother in law John Charles Ingram. After she was widowed she lived at 32 Norfolk Street with her daughter Sarah, and died at home.  The grave monument gives her age as 70 years, but it is believed she was 71 or 72 years old.
