Also of EDMUND HEFFER d Jun 24 1900 aged 68

Ruth Heffer (née Earith) (1828 – 30 July 1899)

Ruth was born in Exning, near Newmarket and was baptised there on 3 August 1828. She was the daughter of Robert and Mary and her father was an agricultural labourer. Ruth married labourer Edmund Heffer on 23 April 1861 in Exning and they had at least four children: Luke Frederick (1862-1938), Mary Ann (1867-1935), Robert (1868-) and Louisa (1871-1940). The family lived at 11 Coronation Place (1871), 14 Cambridge Place (1881) and 19 Norfolk Street (at least 1891 onwards).  In 1891 Edmund was working as a labourer for the town. Ruth died at home and her funeral was held on 3 August.

Edmund was also born in Exning and was the son of Charles (1800-1848) and Phoebe (née Parr) (1801-1882). He was baptised on 29 April 1833 and his father also was an agricultural labourer. He died at Norfolk Street and was buried with Ruth on 27 June.
