Inscription

In Loving Memory of ELSIE our dear daughter

ELSIE HELEN HOLMES died Sunday March 6. 1910. Aged 14 years

Day after day we saw her fade. And gently pass away:
We often prayed in our own hearts that she might longer stay.
She’s gone for ever gone, and left us here to weep:
We in turn are called away, within the grave to sleep.

Also of DANIEL HOLMES died July 17 1921. Aged 58 years .

Nothing in my hand I bring; simply to Thy cross I cling !
