Also their daughter ELIZABETH MARY HULLAND died 31st December 1970 aged 71 years
Walter William Hulland (12 January 1870 – 6 May 1930)
Walter was born in Swansea to Elizabeth (née Mansell) and Lewis Henry Hulland (1846-1910). He was baptised at St. Mary’s Church, Swansea on 13 April 1870. Lewis was a fruiterer and later an able body seaman and he and Elizabeth seem to have lived separate lives. In 1881 Walter was with his mother and sister Edith at his maternal grandfather’s farm in Trumpington. By 1891 Elizabeth Hulland was the village postmistress and Walter was working as a postman. He married Jennie Suggitt in 1895 and they had four children: Edith Margaret (known as Margaret) (1895-1964), William Mansell (1897-1899), Dorothy (1898-1969) and Elizabeth Mary (1899-1970). The family lived at 14 St. Matthew’s Street then 15 Norfolk Street (at least 1901 onwards) and Walter worked as a bricklayer’s labourer. He died in Cambridge aged 60 years old.
Jane Ann (Jennie) Hulland (née Suggitt) (1 October 1864 – 6 November 1951)
Jane was born in Hovingham, North Yorkshire, a village seven miles south of Kirbymoorside. She was the daughter of William (1822-1885) and Margaret (née Nattress) (1826-1878) and grew up in the village, where her father was an agricultural labourer. Aged 16 she was living with her widowed father and younger sister Margaret in East Gilling, near Helmsley and acting as the family housekeeper. In 1891 she was working as a kitchen maid for Lord and Lady Middleton at Birdsall House, near Malton, before moving to Cambridge where she married Walter Hulland. In 1939 she was living at 15 Norfolk Street with her youngest daughter Elizabeth.
Elizabeth Mary Hulland (2 July 1899 – 31 December 1970)
Elizabeth was documented as being incapacitated when the 1939 register was taken. She continued to live at Norfolk Terrace until at least 1965, and then moved to live at 6 Donegal, East Road.
Walter and Jennie’s infant son was also buried in the St. Andrew the Less area of Mill Road Cemetery and is thought to have been buried in the same grave.
William Mansell Hulland (1897- December 1899)
William died just before his third birthday and was buried at Mill Road Cemetery on Boxing Day 1899.
