This headstone stands east of the east path a few metres north of the Commonwealth War Grave of Previtt. The carved inscription is very worn but visible in sunlight.

Mary Johnson (née Bavington) (1841 – 9 September 1890)

Mary was born in Haversham, near Milton Keynes and was baptised there on 26 September 1841. She was the daughter of Robert and Amelia Bavington, her father was an agricultural labourer and her mother a lacemaker. Aged 9, Mary was also working as a lacemaker (1861) and aged 19 was working in a ‘refreshment rooms’ in Wolverton, Buckinghamshire. She married John Johnson in Haversham on 28 April 1867 and they had at least three children: Sarah Amelia (1868-), Joseph Harry (1870-1953) and Walter Harrison (1874-). John worked as a bookseller’s clerk and they lived at East Street, Oxford (1871) and High Street, Stony Stratford, Buckinghamshire (at least 1874-1881) before moving to Cambridge. Mary died at 2 Kingston Terrace, 69 Mill Road and her funeral was held on 13 September.

John Johnson (1841 – 12 July 1914)

John was born in Brinklow, near Rugby in Warwickshire and was the son of John. In 1861 shortly before his marriage to Mary he was lodging in Hardingstone, Northamptonshire and working as a bookstall clerk. In 1901 he was living with his children Sarah and Walter at 69 Mill Road and was working as an assurance agent. He retired and went to live with his daughter Sarah and son in law John Jeffreys in Brockley, London (1911). It is believed John might have died in London.
