Also ANNIE MARSHALL d Dec 18th 1925 aged [80]

Thomas Marshall (1843 – 13 November  1898)

Thomas was the son of William and Sarah Marshall, and was baptised on 8 October 1843 at All Saints’ Church.  His father was a coachman and aged 18 Thomas was employed as an apprentice tailor. He married Ann on 26 June 1865 and they had three sons: William (1866-1882), Albert Edward (1871-1882) and Bertie Thomas (1876-1954). Thomas worked as a tailor, Ann as a tailoress and they lived at 13 Norfolk Terrace (1871-at least 1881) and 4 Priory Road (at least 1891 onwards). He died at home aged 55 years old (despite his grave monument reading 54 years) and his funeral was held on 17 November.

Ann (Annie) Marshall (née Haylett)  (1846 – 18 December 1925)

Annie was born in Madingley and baptised there on 12 April 1846. She was the daughter of Richard and Susan Haylett (also sometimes spelt Aylett or  Eylett). Richard was a farm labourer and Ann married Thomas Marshall when she was 19 years old. After she was widowed she lived at 47 Devonshire Road, with son Bertie who was a tailor (1901) and died aged 80 years old.

Two of Thomas and Annie’s sons died in September 1882 and were buried at Mill Road Cemetery. It is not known if they were buried in the same grave as their parents.

Albert Edward Marshall (1871 – September 1882)

Albert died at Norfolk Terrace aged 11 years old and his funeral was held on 17 September.

William Marshall (1866 – September 1882)

William was baptised on 3 May 1866 and died at Norfolk Terrace aged 16 years old. He was buried on 30 September 1882.
