Ellen Frances Moden (29 September 1867 – 25 February 1942)

Ellen was the daughter of Robert and Emma (née Reynolds) Moden and was born in West Wickham, Cambridgeshire. Her father was a baker and she grew up at 16 & 17  City Road (1871/1881) and 19 Mill Road (1891). Ellen worked as a dressmaker but by 1901 had moved to Angel Lane, West Ham where she was a bakery shop assistant. In 1911 she had returned to Cambridge and was working as a cook for Arthur and Alice Chaplin who lived at Chaucer Road. She lived at Caxton End, Bourn (1932) and then moved to 22 Royal Albert Almshouses, Hills Road.  In 1939 Ellen was documented as a retired domestic servant and died at Mill Road Infirmary aged 74 years old.
