Lionel Frank Wallis (1896 – 30 June 1906)
Lionel was the son of Albert Thomas Wallis (1862-1931) and Emily (née Newman) (1860-1957). He grew up at 5 Saxon Road, and his father was a tailor. Lionel died of TB at the Sanitorium, Mill Road aged 10 years old and his funeral was held on 3 July.
Jane Ann Newman (1848 – 29 October 1932)
Jane was Lionel’s maternal aunt, and sister of Emily Wallis. She was born in Cambridge, the eldest daughter of William (1825-) and Ann (1821-1892) and grew up at 5 Gas Lane, where her father was a fruiterer, her mother a laundress. In 1871 she was working in Islington as a general servant, and later worked as a cook for the Reece family at Cavendish Road West, Marylebone (1881). In 1891 she was working for spinster Charlotte Arthur, on Archway Road, Islington. She returned to Cambridge where she ran a grocery store at 9 Gas Lane (at least 1901 onwards) and died in Cambridge aged 84 years old.
Albert and Emily Wallis had another three children who died as infants and were also buried at Mill Road Cemetery. It is not known if they were buried in the same grave as their brother/aunt.
Emily Wallis (March 1890- March 1890)
Emily died at 45 Bradmore Street aged 1 week old and was buried on 10 March 1890.
Leslie Wallis (August 1901 – August 1901)
Leslie died at Saxon Street aged 2 days old and was buried on 17 August 1901.
Daisy Wallis (1904 – March 1904)
The third infant is believed to have been Daisy Wallis, who was buried at Mill Road Cemetery on 4 March 1904.
Albert and Emily Newman are buried in the City of Cambridge Cemetery together with their daughter Dorothy Edith Wallis.
