Ebenezer was born in Gloucester St and  baptised in the parish of St Giles. He was the fifth child of Ebenezer and Mary Ann (née Wilson) Pike. Ebenezer Snr was originally a gardener. By 1881 he had become
custodian of the Cambridge Corn Exchange. So young Ebenezer grew up in Wheeler St as they seemed to have lived ‘on site’ at the Corn Exchange.

He married Amelia Lanham at St Matthew’s church on July 11th 1905 when he was 30 years old and she was 24. He was described a clerk but by 1911 he had taken over the role of caretaker at the Corn exchange and he, Amelia and 3 year old Daris Maud were living back at his old family home in Wheeler St.

He died in hospital

Amelia was the daughter of Frederick William and Amelia Lanham, a bookmaker and college servant respectfully. She grew up in South Street and Bradmore Street, Cambridge.

Amelia died at 161 Girton Road, Girton.
