Monument
This set of kerbstones, now hidden under grass and bushes, lie 4 rows east of the west path on the southern border of the parish of St Edwards. (Sexton’s book – 11 rows from the west wall plot 2). Only a small portion of the carved inscription was visible in 2017. The small slab lies at the west end within the kerbs.

Charles Rawlings (1830 – 15 February 1916)
Charles was the son of Thomas and Sarah, and was born in Great Shelford. He married Phoebe Hunt at St Giles’ Church on 23 September 1858 and they had five children: Ellen Jane (1859-1908), Thomas Frederick (1861-1933), Alice Mary (1865-1939), Jane King (1866-1942) and William Charles (1869-1935). Charles was a millwright and the family lived at 5 Elm Street (1871), 124 Newmarket Road (1881), 69 East Road (1891) and then 3 Milford Street (at least 1901 onwards). He died at home aged 85 years old.
Phoebe Elizabeth Rawlings (née Hunt) (1828 – 9 April 1914)
Phoebe was baptised on 4 April 1828 at St. Giles’ Church and was the daughter of Frederick and Jane (née King) Hunt. Frederick was a brewer who worked for Messrs. Fosters and he died in December 1831 ‘after a severe affliction’. Her mother worked as a college servant, and in 1851 Phoebe was living with her mother and brother at 32 Castle Street. She also died at Milford Street and her funeral was held on 13 April.
Jane King Rawlings (1866 – 1942)
Jane was the 4th child of Charles & Phoebe. She remained in the family home, 3 Milford St, after the death of her parents
