George William Roper (1 November 1810 – 19 May 1888)
George was born in London, the son of apothecary William Roper and Amy. He was baptised at St. Luke’s Old Street Church, Finsbury on 12 February 1811. In 1851 George was living with his younger brother William in Wortham, Suffolk. He was documented on the census as being an annuitant/landed proprietor and the brothers lived with two house servants. He had moved to live at 8 Brunswick Walk by 1871, then at 22 Brunswick Place (1881) and died at home aged 77 years old. He was buried at Mill Road Cemetery on 24 May.
