This set of kerbstones lie about 5 rows east of the central path in the parish of Holy Trinity. The birdstone ‘goldfinch’ is a few metres to the south. It is in good condition and the inscription of metal letters is intact. This area is often overgrown by bramble and ivy.

William James Sarll (1895 – 28 August 1937)
William was the son of George Frederick Sarll (1857-1919) and Sarah Elizabeth (née Wright) (1863-1947). He was born in Walkern, two miles outside Stevenage and his father worked as a brewer’s traveller (sales representative) (1901) before the family moved to live in Hitchin where George Sarll ran a beer/tabacco shop (1911). After his father’s death in 1919 William moved to live at 1 Malcolm Street, Cambridge where his mother ran a Lodging House (at least 1923 onwards) and married Kathleen Isabel Saggers (1901-1988) in 1926. William and Kathleen had two children: Donald W (1927-) and Eileen I (1928-) and the family lived at 77 Coleridge Road. He died at home aged 42 years old and was buried on 31 August 1937.
