Marie Eva Spilman (1897 – 31 March 1920)

Marie was born in Hampstead and was the youngest of Walter and Annie (née Collins) Spilman’s daughters. She grew up at 37 Maygrove, Hampstead and her father worked as a carman (delivery driver). She died in Hampstead aged 23 years old and was buried at Mill Road Cemetery.

Walter George Spilman (1887 – 23 March 1887)

Walter was the eldest child of Walter and Annie Spilman, and died in Cambridge aged just a few weeks old.

Edith Petty Sharpe (née Spilman) (6 October 1894 – 30 March 1940)

Edith was the elder of the two Spilman daughters and was also born in Hampstead.  In 1911 she was living at home and working as a waitress and married Arthur Thomas Sharp (1904-1963) on 30 April 1928 at St. Cuthbert’s Church, Hampstead. Arthur was a carpenter and the couple had three children: Betty A A (1928-), Herbert Walter (1931-2002) and Dennis Arthur (1932-1985). The family lived at 10 Osborn Gardens, Mill Hill although when the 1939 registration was taken Edith was staying at her parents’ house. She died in Hampstead aged 45 years old.
