The plinth in April 2022

Monument

According to the grave register this small plinth with missing cross marks the grave of George, the baby son of George & Amelia Stace. It is located in the northern section of the parish of Andrew the Great 12 rows rows along the east west path from the centre circle and 4 monuments to the north.

The inscription is so badly eroded we have not been able to read it.

George Groves Stace (1876 – 1876)

George was the eldest child of George & Amelia he he died in Brighton and  was buried here on August 25th 1876 when he was just 2 months old. His grandparents Charles & Susan Groves are buried close by and his parents in the southern section of the parish close to the centre circle.
