William Stonebridge (1825 – 7 April 1890)
William was born in Cambridge, the son of William (a gardener) and Ann (a college servant).
In 1851 William, aged 26, was living with his family in Blackamoor’s Head Yard off Bridge Street and working as a college servant. He married Mary Ann on February 10th 1853 at St Clement’s Church and they had at least six children: Ellen Jane (1853-1914), Mary Ann (1855-), Emma Sophia (1856-1934), William Henry (1859-1932), Charles John (1863-1934) and Leah McCowan (1866-1896). The family lived at 8 Thompson’s Lane and William worked as a college servant, although it is not known in which college, nor in which role. He died at Thompsons Lane aged 65 years old and his funeral took place on 10 April.
Mary Ann Stonebridge (née Pointon) (1827 – 4 October 1909)
Mary was born in Hatfield and aged 23 was living in Teversham and working as a cook for farmer John Grain and his children. After she was widowed she went to live at 11 Richmond Terrace and died there aged 82 years old.
