Harry Thompson (1863 – 21 July 1918)

Harry was born in Hasingfield, a village six miles south west of Cambridge and was the son of Richard and Mary.  He grew up on Cantaloupe Road, Haslingfield and his father was an agricultural labourer. Aged 18, Harry was working as the same, although he later worked for Great Eastern Railway. He married Sarah Neeves in 1886 and the couple had two children, both of whom died as infants.  They  lived at Malta Road with Sarah’s mother Hannah and Harry worked on the railway as a horse shunter. He died at home aged 55 years old and his funeral was held on 25 July.

Sarah Thompson  (née Neeves) (8 February 1862 – 3 May 1954)

Sarah was also born in Haslingfield and baptised there on 4 May 1862.  She was the daughter of William (1827-) and Hannah (née Badcock) (1824-1913). William Neeves was an agricultural labourer, and aged  19 Sarah was living on Histon Road, and working as a servant for Herbert and Alice Riseley. In 1939 she was still living at 43 Malta Road, and died aged 92 years old.
