Julia Jane Tolliday (née Plumb) (1848 –  29 November 1893)

Julia was born in Brinkley – a small village which lies fifteen miles east of Cambridge and five miles south of Newmarket. She was the daughter of horsekeeper Henry and his wife Jane and was baptised in Brinkley on 16 April 1848. Aged 24 (1871) she was living at  Scrope Terrace and working as a housemaid for Arthur and Eleanor Holmes.  She married Harry Tolliday in 1875 and the couple had four children: Susannah Celia (1876-1908), Emily Jane (1876-1940), George Henry Plumb (1878-1948) and Herbert John (1884-1918).  Harry was a fireman for Great Eastern Railway (1872) and later became an engine driver (1891).The family lived at 83 Gwydir Street (1881) then at 26 Kingston Street (1891).  Julia died at Kingston Street aged 45 years old.

Harry Tolliday (1851 – 10 February 1912)

Harry was born in Willingham and married when he was 22 years old.  He married for a second time on 17 January 1895 at St. Paul’s Church to Frances Debnam Hasler (1853-1940).  They lived at 9 Mawson Road (1901) and then at 54 Sedgwick Street (1911).  He died at home aged 60 years old.
