Mary married Henry Tuck (1803-1886) in 1826 at St. Andrew’s Church. Henry was a brazier/tin worker and they lived at Melbourne Place from at least 1840 onwards. Apart from the two children remembers on the grave monument it is not known how many children the couple had. Mary was a laundress at Emmanuel College for seventeen years (c.1833 onwards) and died at home of breast cancer ‘after two years of great suffering’. She was buried at Mill Road Cemetery on 19 April.
Emma Tuck (1826 – November 1829)
Emma was buried on 8 November 1829.
Susanna Tuck
Nothing is known of Susanna’s life.
Henry Tuck did not remarry, he lived at Melbourne Place (1851) and Sidney Street (1861) and was a long term inmate of the Mill Road Workhouse (at least 1869 onwards). He died at the Workhouse aged 83 years old and was buried in the St. Andrew the Less area of Mill Road Cemetery on 19 June. It is thought he was buried with his wife.
