Elizabeth Wooding (née Haines) (1834 – 7 June 1915)
Elizabeth was the daughter of gardener Joseph Haines and was born in Little Hay, near Hemel Hempstead. Aged 17 she was living on the High Street, Kensington and was a servant to chemist/druggist Augustus Bird and his wife Mary. She later lived with her aunt Susan Dickson in Haggerston, then along at East Heath Villa, Wokingham (1871). By 1881 she was back living with her aunt and uncle in Shoreditch, and was sissting her uncle James Dickson in his butchery shop (1881). She married Joseph Wooding at St. Mary’s Church, Haggerton on 7 November 1887 and the couple lived at 94 Tenison Road.
Joseph Wooding (1832 – 20 October 1920)
Joseph was born in King’s Ripton, near Huntingdon and was baptised there on 22 April 1832. He was the son of Thomas (1805-) and Rhoda (née Porter) (1802-1886) and his father was a farm bailiff. He moved to Cambridge, where he was an apprentice to wheelwright Charles Froment (1851). He had retired by 1881, and was living in Fenstanton with his mother who rented out houses. He died at Tenison Road aged 88 years old.
