Reta Patricia Coote (1922 – 2 February 1927)
Reta was the ony daughter of Daniel and Emily Coote and died at Addenbrooke’s Hospital aged 5 years old.
Emily Coote (née Tanguy) (12 January 1888 – 18 February 1967)
Emily was born on the Island of Jersey and was the daughter of William and Jeanne, both of whom were French. Her father was a farm labourer and her mother a laundress. Aged 23 (1911) she was lodging in Bristol with her married sister Mary Jane and working as a dressmaker. Emily married Daniel Coote in Edmonton, London in 1920 and they moved to live in Cambridge where he worked as a railway guard for London North Eastern Railway. The couple had two children: Reta and Donald (1929-2007) and lived at 193 Coldham’s Common. Emily died in Cambridge aged 79 years old.
Daniel Coote (26 November 1890 – 13 July 1973)
Daniel was born in Islington and was the son of John and Marianne. John Coote was a railway engine driver for Great Northern Railway and aged 20 Daniel was living at home and working as a railway porter for the same railway line. After he was widowed he moved to live in Luton, where his son Don lived and died there aged 82 years old.
