John Day (1864 – 14 May 1904)
John was the son of David and Hannah (née Osborne) and was raised at 15 Guildhall Place. David Day died in February 1875 and John then lived with his mother Hannah and worked as a cabinet maker. He married Marie Williams in on New Years Day 1891 at St. Luke’s Church and they had three children: Edward John (known as Eddie) (1892-1952), Elsie Maud (1895-1960) and Cyril (1904-2002). The family lived at 15 Carlyle Road and John died at home aged 39 years old.
Marie Elizabeth Day (née Williams) (10 April 1867 – 4 July 1944)
Marie was born in Notting Hill, and grew up in Swavesey with her grandparents Edward and Lucy Williams. She married John Day when she was 22 years old and after she was widowed moved to 55 Alpha Road with sister in law Sarah and daughter Elsie. She died at Alpha Road in 1944 and her funeral was held on 8 Julyat St. Luke’s Church.
