Monument
This set of kerbstones, located in the parish of All Saints, lie 5 rows west of the central path and about 4 plots south of the north path close to a very large fir tree. The monument of grey polished stone has been buried under pine cones & bramble for many years and several young trees now grow within the grave set, the south kerb has been displaced. The inscriptions of metal letters appear intact but as the kerbs are now at least 10 cm under leaf litter we only cleared a small section…

Peace Perfect Peace
Alice Funge (c.1886 – 7 July 1935)
Alice was the daughter of Thomas and Mary Ann (née Clifton) Funge. Her father was a clerk for Revenue and Excise and she grew up at 184 Gwydir Street (1891) and then at 22 Lyndewode Road (at least 1901 onwards). When the 1911 census was taken she was a patient at the Cottage Hospital in Southwold, and was noted as being a school teacher at the time. She returned to live at her parent’s home at Lyndewode Road and died there aged 49 years old.
Rosa Jane Funge (15 February 1876 – 5 November 1958)
Rosa was Thomas and Mary’s eldest daughter, and was born in Dilham, near Stalham in Norfolk. She lived mostly at Lyndewode Road, but in 1911 was living in Reydon, Suffolk where she was noted as working as a ladies companion. From at least 1927 onwards she was resident at Lyndewode Road and lived there with Alice. She died at the Hope Nursing Home, but was still living at 22 Lyndewode Road in 1958 – so the house was in one continuous family occupancy for at least 57 years.
