Ann Houghton (1841 – 21 June 1907)
Ann was born in Cambridge and married George Houghton. The couple had at least seven children: Fanny Noble (1860-1931), James (1864-), Maria (1867-), George (1869-), Louisa (1870-), Ann (known as Annie) (1872-) and William (known as Willie) (1877-). Eldest daughter Fanny was possibly Ann’s illegitimate daughter prior to her marriage. George was a miller and the family lived at 12 Adam and Eve Row (1871) and 60 Burleigh Street. After she was widowed in 1877 Ann lived at Burleigh Street with her six children and worked as a college bedmaker (1881). By 1891 she was living at 85 King Street, before moving to 14 Botolph Lane (at least 1901) onwards where she lived with daughters Louisa and Annie, and grandson Henry Morley (son of Fanny). She died at Botolph Lane and was buried on 25 June.
George Houghton (1839 – 7 August 1877)
George was also born in Cambridge and in 1861 was lodging at Fisher’s Lane with widow Elizabeth Fordham. He worked as a miller and died at Burleigh Street.
