There are several members of the Keemish family buried at Mill Road Cemetery. Their graves have not yet been identified and are now thought to be lost.

Edward Argent Keemish (8 November 1806 – 24 January 1869)
Edward was the son of Argent and Mary and was born in London. He was baptised on 18 January 1807 at St. Mary’s Church, Marylebone Road. He married Hannah Keemish Spink on 19 October 1830 at St. Giles’ Church, Cambridge and they had two sons: Edward (1831-1902) and Argent (1835-1907). Edward worked as a tailor, Hannah as a college servant and the family lived at Warwick Street (a street east of St. Mary the Great which no longer exists) and then Petty Cury. Warwick Street was broken up as part of a market area redevelopment in 1853, and Edward was paid £320 for his house.
After he was widowed Edward went to live with his son Edward at 12 Sussex Street. He was found dead in bed one morning. A post mortem found that he had died of lung disease. His funeral was held on 30 January and he was buried in the St. Mary the Great area of the Cemetery.
Hannah Keemish Keemish (née Spink) (17 March 1794 – 8 March 1865)
Hannah was the second daughter of Edmund (1772-1832) and Sarah (née Keemish) Spink. She was born in Hatley, Norfolk, and baptised at St. Giles’ Church on 6 February 1796. Edmund was a woollen draper, and she married Edward Keemish when she was 36 years old. Hannah died at Petty Cury and was buried in the St. Mary the Great area of the Cemetery on 14 March 1865.
Hannah’s brother Robert (1802-1875), his two wifes and two daughters are all buried in the St. Clement’s area of the Cemetery. Their graves have also not yet been identified.

Edward Keemish (26 November 1831 – 11 July 1902)
Edward wsa baptised at St.Giles’ Church on Christmas Day 1831 and aged 19 was working as a tailor. He married Elizabeth Lavinia woods on 24 August 1857 in Gorleston, Suffolk. Edward and Elizabeth started married life living at 37 Petty Cury with his parents and brother Argent. Elizabeth worked as a straw bonnet maker. The couple later lived at 12 Sussex Street (at least 1869 onwards). By 1891 Edward was running a University Lodging House from Sussex Street. In 1901 he was documented as being retired. He died at Addenbrooke’s Hospital aged 70 years old and his funeral was held on 15 July.
Elizabeth Lavinia Keemish (née Woods) (c.March 1832 – 2 July 1922)
Elizabeth was the daughter of Samuel (1805-1891) and Ann (1801-1881) and was born in Cambridge. She worked as a bonnet maker/milliner and after she was widowed Elizabeth lodged with Mary Ann Ladds at 59 Abbey Road, where she died aged 90 years old.
Argent Keemish (23 March 1835 – 18 January 1907)
Argent was the second son of Edward and Hannah and was baptised on 12 April 1835. He worked as a master carpenter and furniture maker and married Elizabeth Toates (1836-1916) on 18 July 1863 at St. Andrew the Less Church. The couple lived at 28a Sun Street (1871-at least 1901). Argent died at 70 Newmarket Road and was buried at Mill Road Cemetery four days later.
Elizabeth Keemish (née Toates) (1835 – 29 June 1916)
Elizabeth was the daughter of Kidman and Elizabeth (née Hill) Toates and was born in Histon. She was baptised on Christmas Day 1835 in Histon. Kidman was an agricultural labourer and by the age of 15 Elizabeth was working as a domestic servant. Immediately before her marriage to Argent Keemish she was working for the Harris family at Emmanuel House, Parker Street. Elizabeth continued to live at 70 Newmarket Road after his death and died at home aged 80 years old. Her funeral was held on 3 July.
