Robert Miller (23 June 1823 – 1 December 1888)
Robert was born in Fulbourn and baptised on 23 September at St Vigor Church in Fulbourn. He was the son of agricultural labourer Robert Miller and his wife Mary. In 1851 he was living at 15 Market Street and working as a gentlemans servant to surgeon Jonah Hammond. Robert married Maria Hart on 17 November 1851. They had at least five children: Henry Robert (1846-1917), Maria (1855-1953), Mary Ann (1857-1958), Amelia (1857-1934) and Florence (Flora) Annie (1869-1958).
The family lived at 46/47 South Street where Robert ran a dairy and was a milkman. He died at home aged 65 years old.
Maria Miller (née Hart) (1823 – 1897)
Maria was one of six children born to James Hart (1787-1869) and Mary (née Wittred), (1791-1861). She was born in Bottisham, Cambridge and married Robert Miller when she was c.27 years old. After being widowed she took over the dairy business and was running it with her daughter Florence in 1891. She died in 1897 aged 73 years old.
Henry Robert Miller (2 September 1852 – 22 December 1917)
Henry was the only son and eldest child of Robert and Maria Miller. He married Louisa Dellar (1853-1939) in 1874 when he was 22 years old. Henry was a stonemason and the couple had twelve children: Florence (1874-), Louisa Amelia (1876-1922), Maud Lilian (1878-1934), Alice Maria (1880-1947), Harry Robert (1882-1966), Percy James (1884-1957), Grace May (1886-1947), Leonard Lantaff (1888-1918), Stanley Bertram (1890-1917), George (1892-), Elsie Florence (1894-1988) and Kate Mabel (1896-1965). The family lived at 108 Gwydir Street (1891), Cormack House, Romsey Road (1901) and 19 Ivy Villa, Romsey Road (1911). Henry died at 13 Ross Street in 1917 aged 65 years old.
Louisa Miller (née Dellar) (25 September 1853 – 17 April 1939)
Louisa was one of eleven children born to Lantaff Della (1830-1936) and Eliza (née Reynolds) (1836-1882). Louisa’s father was a fireman in a gas house and later a gas works labourer. She grew up at 4 Staffordshire Street, and married Henry Miller when she was c21 years old. Two of their sons died in the 1st World War – Leonard and Stanley. Louisa died in Felstead in Essex age 85 years old and it is thought she was living with her daughter Alice Maria at the time of her death.
