Robert Taylor (c.1792 – 19 August 1858)

Robert married Mary Ann Bowbank on 21 April 1812 and they had at least one son: Henry Ralph Speechly (1824-1861). Robert had a draper’s shop at 24 Market Hill, and the stock of the shop was sold off in one lot in March 1844. Robert died at 2 Jesus Terrace, New Square aged 66 years old, and his funeral was held on 23 August.

Mary Ann Taylor (née Bowbank) (c.1792 – 7 December 1876)

Mary was the daughter of John and Philadelphia (née Parkin) Bowbank and was baptised at Holy Sepulchre Church on 28 March 1793. After she was widowed, she continued to live at Jesus Terrace and in 1861 was documented as being an ‘estate proprietor’. She died at home and was buried at Mill Road Cemetery on 15 December.
