Betsy was born in Stapleford and baptised there on 21 May 1820. She was the daughter of Noah and Ellen Rawlinson, and her father was an agricultural labourer. She maried Edward Kittridge (1820-1906) on 2 April 1846 at St. Mary’s Church, Cambridge and they had at least seven children: Edward (1847-1887), Elizabeth (1849-), Emma Margaret (1851-1896), Eleanor Ann (known as Nelly) (1852-1936), Alfred Frederick, Frank (1856-1858) and Alice Kate (1859-1927). Edward was a chemist (medicine dispenser) and the family lived at Gothic Street (1851) and 41 Grafton Street (at least 1861 onwards). Elizabeth died at home aged 71.
After he was widowed Edward Kittridge retired and moved to live with his youngest daughter Alice, who was a teacher in Meppershall, Bedfordshire. He died in Bedfordshire aged 83 years.
Frank Kittridge (1856 – 8 November 1858)
