Emily Searle (1851 – 24 July 1900)
Emily was the daughter of Henry and Ann (née Smith) Searle and grew up at 26 Fitzroy Street, where her father was a tailor. Emily worked as a dressmaker (1871) and then as a shopwoman in a furniture warehouse (1881). She later ran a Lodging House from 3 Alexandra Street (at least 1888 to 1891). She died at 15 Botolph Lane and her funeral was held on 26 July.
Sarah Ann Searle (c.1846 – 15 March 1913)
Sarah was Emily’s elder sister and also worked as a dressmaker. She was living at Fitzroy Street in 1881 with her parents and sister Emily, before lodging at 8 St. Edward’s Passage (1901). Sarah was living at 4 Perse Almshouses, Newnham Road by 1911 and died there aged 67 years old.
