Ann Sears (née Cooper) (1784 –  11 November 1871)

Ann was born in Chatteris and married Richard Sears (1779-1956) there on 30 November 1805. Richard was a farmer and they had at least five children: John Cooper (1808-1808), Ann (1811-1816), Michael Linford (1815-1892), Susan Ann (1820-) and Harriette (1821-). In 1841 they were living in Manea, six miles east of Chatteris and later moved to live on the High Street in March, Cambridgeshire where Richard was described as a landed proprietor (1851). She was widowed in February 1856 and Ann then moved to live at 32 New Square, Cambridge where she lived with her daughter Susan and various grand children. She was recorded as having ‘income from landed property’ and died at home aged 87 years old. Her funeral was held on 17 November 1871.
